Join Knights Uniqua and Tyrone as they embark on a quest to protect King Pablo’s unpredictable egg. Along the way, Grabbing Goblin Austin and Flighty Fairy Tasha join the medieval mayhem as the runaway egg hatches feet and makes an unexpected dash all the way up to Dragon Mountain! The Backyardigans will need the audience’s help to face a mighty dragon and return the egg to the king. The Backyardigans Live! will have the entire family singing, dancing and laughing along to songs of courage, friendship and the power of imagination.

Love threatens to shut down the Sleep Tite pajama factory as the battle of the sexes plays out in this rollicking classic of the Golden Age of musical theatre. Pianist Dave Brubeck is a legend and a jazz icon. One of the creators of the West Coast or “cool” jazz sound, Brubeck has been at the forefront of jazz since the 1950s. In Chinese tradition, the mythical dragon symbolizes power, heroism, goodness and perseverance. This spectacular production combines the masculine martial arts of kungfu and gigong with the feminine grace of contortion, acrobatics and dance. The perfect balance of yin and yang creates a fascinating glimpse into the ancient culture of China – in a performance its creators call “Kungfu Cirque”!
DON WESSEL EMERGING CONCERT ARTISTS SERIES
This 25-year-old marimbist was born in Hong Kong and moved to Vancouver with his family at the age of 12. His debut album of his own transcription of Bach’s Goldberg Variations is the first and only recording of the work on marimba, and received rave reviews! Cheung, a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and The Boston Conservatory, is currently pursuing his Doctorate at the University of Michigan.
Two operas, both set in Sicilian villages, reflect the colorful world of traditional Italian peasants going about their daily lives – until jealousy and revenge flare into tragedy! This wonderful dramatic double bill is loaded with fabulous music, including the tragic aria “Vesti la giubba” from Pagliacci and the Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana. Performed in Italian with English supertitles.
